Well.
I think my head has stopped spinning.
After going to Borders (that didn’t really have anything) and trekking across town to Barnes and Noble (that seems to have everything), I finally have Web Analytics 2.0 by Avinash Kaushik.
I spent a good hour or so starting to read the book. And though I am only 3 chapters in, (No I’m not a snail reader, I am trying to take notes and observe thank you very much! lol) I can definitely say (with as much authority that an SEO Wannabe can muster) that this book is a WOO HOO.
And let me tell you why…
(1) 25 Adwords Credit – Okay yes I am one of those people that goes nuts at the words Free Gift with Purchase but…. this is really a free gift that I didn’t expect. So now I can play around and say that I have used the program before (honestly). There is nothing worse than being asked to navigate something and praying that the power goes out (not from personal experience).
(2) I haven’t pulled my hair out yet. – For a rather technical subject to be laid out in a way that it is (a) actually making sense and (b) seems like actionable knowledge, is an awesome feeling. It is definitely one of those resources where I know that I will be able to glean more from it as my knowledge base expands but I still feel comfortable about where I am now.
(3) It has given me more buzz words and concepts, products and services, to bone up on before my meeting with the DREAM BOSS’s BOSS. Hey I might even do a few pre-interview analytics on the site. I don’t want to be a junior SEO analyst forever.
So with that being said I am going to drink my homemade cafe con leche and get back into study mode.
Different pair of sweat pants and different UF t-shirt
I have decided not to put my outline and notes on here because I don’t want to get in trouble by the copyright police, or have Kaushik put me on [insert scary music] the LIST.
I am up fairly early because my organization is going to deliver teddy bears and ready Christmas stories to a head start school about 1:00 or so. So I’m up for a morning of studying, an afternoon of service, and hopefully an evening of blogging and my required reading.
Ciao.
